Cashier: What's with the veggies? Are you on a diet? I'm on the Atkins Diet. It's suuuuper amazing. 
Me: I'm vegan. 
Cashier: But that's not safe. You need meat. If you don't eat it at least once a week your body will be shut down and you'll die. Vegans and Vegetarians don't live that long. 
Me: No, I'm fine.  I get everything I need from plants.  What's my total? 
Cashier: $25.78. Well, whatever, stop shoving your veganism down my throat. I love red meat and it's going to help me get healthy.

tofu hotdogs are also really great for summer BBQ holidays! and potato salad made with veganase is always a hit when I bring it to non vegan cook outs!

Okay, so this is my first vegan memorial weekend.

My first one. Looks like the faince (yes, he’s home!!!) and I are going to a friend of his house. Ugh. Looks like I’m going to have to explain my Veganism. I’ve purchased a vegan burger. I’ll ask them to throw one on the grill for me. Heck, I’m not hard….I’ll pop it in the microwave. I’ve kind of met them….I hope it’s not an uphill vegan battle. I just don’t want all of the vegan jokes.

Grilling season can be nightmarish for vegans…..but it can be nice. I’m going to purchase us a grill. As if I know how to use one. lol

I just don’t understand how I was ever not vegan. Well, maybe I do. I’m Black, I’m southern and well….I’m an American. It’s not engrained in me, yet the more I thought about it, the more in made perfect sense.

My favorite story out of this is Malia, when she was 4, she had a little dance thing. Well, Michelle was gone that weekend so I’m taking her to ballet. And I get her in her little leotard and her little stuff. I did her hair, put it in a little bun.

We get to the dance studio and one of the mothers there right away comes up to Malia – she thinks she’s out of earshot of me and she says, ‘Sweetie, do you want me to redo your hair?’ And Malia who she’s 4 says, ‘Yes please, this is a disaster’ you know, she didn’t want to hurt daddy’s feelings.

It’s a penguin. With a penguin backpack.

I am really uncertain and confused about something and this penguin is helping, a lot.

I’m scared and sad….I don’t know why. It’s kind of silly. What’s going on? Why? Who put it on the penguin? Is it a bomb? Is Jesus coming and only taking the penguins with Him? This makes me want my mom. :/
